Hi, my name is Susan and I have a problem...

We are now in the second month of the new TV season and I am finally admitting that I have a problem. I am addicted to my DVR.

I realized that I am watching/recording ten, yes ten shows on a weekly basis, plus Oprah daily. It would be eleven, however my DVR got too full and wiped out all of the Grey's Anatomy for this year, so I am out of the loop. I will just borrow Shelly's copy of Season 3 when it comes out because I know that she will buy it because she is hooked on McDreamy or it is McSteamy? (I can't keep them straight)

In the past I never got this involved because I would completely forget to watch the show get over it in a matter of minutes, however this is different. So many of the shows that I am watching are ones that if you miss a week you are completely lost, e.g. Heroes, Jericho.

My favorite comedy continues to be The Office. There is not a better show on TV. I thought that after Arrested Development was canceled I wouldn't laugh so hard that I cried, but Steve Carrell and Rainn Wilson proved me wrong. For those that haven't seen it and work in any type of prairie dog town office setting you must watch.

I am becoming disenchanted with Lost (my favorite drama for the past couple years after they killed Alias), it is moving so slow. They are still on the island with no light at the end of the proverbial tunnel, they still don't know who the Others really are and the polar bears and black cloud thing just showed up again. Go figure.

Now Lost is on hiatus until next February or something. Last year I would have been lost (no pun intended), this year I have nine other friends & Oprah to keep me company.

Thanks for the laugh. I agree that admitting is the first step, a hard step but moving forward nonetheless.

Pleased as punch

We got our new vacuum cleaner last night. The home office was kind enough to pick one up along with our PF Chang's takeout. Take out Chinese on Valentine's is a tradition. Anyhoo, as you can see from the photo we basically sucked up an entire Pomeranian in our upstairs family room. I don't know if I should be embarrassed or pleased. I mean we just vacuumed on Monday with the Hoover and I knew it wasn't picking up everything, but this is ridiculous. The home office was so impressed with the Animal he went downstairs and vacuumed up another canine in the family room down there. I am still trying to figure out all of the gadgets on the machine. I seriously cannot figure out how to attach the stair cleaner. It is really funky how the thing is put together, efficient, but funky. I also for the life of me cannot figure out the directions. I dislike how all European companies, Dyson (UK), IKEA (Sweden) just show you pictures. I always thought I was a visual person, but I am b...

JG's in love

Remember that song Chuck E.'s in Love? I think it was by Rickie Lee Jones. Well, I have been singing that little tune in my head this afternoon. Evidently JG is smitten in a big way. I guess today at pre-school he went up and declared his undying love to Paige, a very cute blond with a bob. My friend Jeremie was picking up the boys and told me JG went up to Paige and told her he was going to marry her. I don't know what Paige's response was to his proposal, but when the boys were riding home Jeremie asked JG why he liked Paige. JG responded, "Because she is so beautiful."

I am breaking up with...

my hair salon... A girl has a very special relationship with her hair salon. I have been "with" mine for nearly eight years, however have hit the tipping point thanks to a little reality show called "Split Ends". The owner of my salon was a participant on the show and swapped places with a stylist in Goodyear, AZ. After watching her little tirade on YouTube I am done. I am completely shocked, embarrassed, and angry I have handed over my money to this woman. She has always been affected, but this is ridiculous. She rips on the AZ salon for being in a strip mall - news flash - her salon is in a strip mall. Plus I have consistently seen women of all shapes and sizes, wearing all types of clothing throughout the years. Don't get me wrong I LOVE THE WOMAN WHO DOES MY HAIR (who is not this woman on the video) and am completely sad that we have come to this, however I cannot step foot in there again. I think I am going to call tomorrow and tell her what I really thin...
