I am so mad I could spit - ok maybe not really cause I've heard you can go to jail for that, plus my mom said spitting is bad manners

I have had it.

Over the past two weeks I have lost my drivers license. Then we couldn't find our Chase replacement cards - they did come in the mail last month - where they went I HAVE NO CLUE.

So old card was cancelled and replacement was sent.

Then on Saturday my Wells Fargo debit card was flagged for fraud because they sent me a new card on DECEMBER 3rd which I didn't receive.

So old card was cancelled and replacement was sent.

Today in the mail there were two envelopes. One was from Chase and the other from Wells Fargo. I was soooo excited!!!

Both contained new cards...

with the old numbers.

I called to ask why and no one could explain why they sent out cards with old numbers that will not work for ANYONE. Got completely lame standard response, "ma'am I do not know what happened but we did send you the card and you lost it, however I apologize for your inconvenience... blah, blah, blah..."

They are both sending another set of cards which could take 5-7 business days.

In the mean time I can either go into my local bank - which is closed now and they can give me a temporary ATM or I can write a check like anyone takes checks anymore especially without a picture ID. I had to take newly laundered $ from the spare change crock in the laundry room for lunch today...I never carry cash, but rather my trusty (no more) debit card.

Oh wait, I got my new/old license in the mail. It is reassuring I can once again prove I am who I say I am.

The one bright spot in the lost license saga was looking forward to a new picture. Dream was thwarted when Charlene at the DMV informed me that they don't take new pictures when you lose your license.

So if I am looking at this with my glass half full glasses on at least they didn't put my Kathy Bates from Misery photo on there again from 1995.

I'm sorry you've had such a rough time, really I am. I do have to tell you, though, that I thought your post title was a JG quote.

Gainfully employed

I heard back last night from Cargill , I start back into the world of the gainfully employed as an independent contractor on October 8 th . My old client, who will now be my new client, Jeff wrote: I'm thrilled we get to work together again. This is the most important project our business unit has taken on in a lot of years so I feel a lot better knowing you're going to be part of it. OK now I'm nervous. Eeek - the most important project? Whoa, better bring the A game, but you know I am excited - scared - but am ready to go. I have so much to do before the 8 th , gotta get the list together to make the most of my kid free week (now that litte man is at daycare in the a.m.). Let's see: 1) Paint basement. 2) Purge house of clutter - how can we accumulate this much crap? 3) Goodwill and library drop off - Maple Grove Library is taking donations until Oct. 6 th !!! 4) Get the yard ready for winter - should I plant more bulbs? 5) Put basement back together - IKEA run ma...

Six weeks

I am sidelined for at least six weeks. No tennis - no good. My bad wheel turned into immobile wheel today thanks to an air cast. Not the most attractive accessory. I had been trying to continue playing with the plantar fasciitis guess I figured it was going to be around for awhile so might as well deal with it. This plan actually worked out for the best because when I was playing on Thursday there was this loud pop in the bottom of my foot. Suddenly my heel felt better, so I thought, "Maybe it released all of the bad heel juju into the rest of my foot." Well, it was something like that. Evidently I tore a ligament in my foot which the doctor told me is really the best thing that could have happened. The reason why is it cured the plantar fasciitis. Plus the recovery time for the ligament thing is about six weeks versus potentially months or years with the other. So all in all I guess it was a good thing to tear a ligament. I am bummed because I can't do any exercise for t...

Z is like for Zodiac

Shelly and I went to the movie Zodiac last night. The theater was nearly packed with mostly men and couples, so it was a bit obvious when two teenage girls talking on cell phones walked into the movie 20 minutes late. Shelly turned to me, "Why would you even come to a movie like this if you are 20 minutes late?" I agreed especially since they had already missed the first victims meeting their demise and the opening which told the viewer this was a true story. You just had to know they were going to be lost the rest of the movie, plus the only reason they were probably there was to see Jake Gyllenhaal . The movie was very good, one of the best I have seen since The Departed , I read the book and the prime suspect was much creepier on the screen than I imagined in real life. At the end of the movie, Shelly stopped by the ladies room and I waited outside. The two teenage girls we saw walk in late also went to the ladies room with cell phones glued to their ears already. At our...
