Honest to Pete...

someone must have taped a conference call I was on today with our corporate I/T services group. Just switch out a beach umbrella for a Lotus Notes server with a few partitions and we are set.

The whole time I was on the call all I could think of was the Twiddlebugs because the five people on the other end of the line seriously sounded like all of them talking at once.

I looked up Twiddlebugs on YouTube and this is what I found. I almost peed my pants listening to it because it was almost verbatim of our conversation.

BTW...My "corporate character" is portrayed by Twiddlerother Timmy. Barb in Corporate is convincingly played by Twiddledaughter Tina, unfortunetly she came up with a "solution" to our problem after 40 minutes of endless droning.

OK...I'm snorting...Totally reminds me of the meeting in the low-bay when we all found out we were having a job-swap (except me. I'm not bitter).

Glad to know that meetings are still useless. Guess I could easily go back to the corporate world and know what's going on.

Oh, Susan. Do you long for the days when your big concern was fitting more tennis into the budget?

I miss them for you.

Pleased as punch

We got our new vacuum cleaner last night. The home office was kind enough to pick one up along with our PF Chang's takeout. Take out Chinese on Valentine's is a tradition. Anyhoo, as you can see from the photo we basically sucked up an entire Pomeranian in our upstairs family room. I don't know if I should be embarrassed or pleased. I mean we just vacuumed on Monday with the Hoover and I knew it wasn't picking up everything, but this is ridiculous. The home office was so impressed with the Animal he went downstairs and vacuumed up another canine in the family room down there. I am still trying to figure out all of the gadgets on the machine. I seriously cannot figure out how to attach the stair cleaner. It is really funky how the thing is put together, efficient, but funky. I also for the life of me cannot figure out the directions. I dislike how all European companies, Dyson (UK), IKEA (Sweden) just show you pictures. I always thought I was a visual person, but I am b...

Wild world

This past week or so has been a blur - We went to Iowa for a tournament - girls did fine - think that they got 3rd overall. Will meet up with the teams again when we go to Kansas in March. Got home from Des Moines @ 6pm Sunday, was at the airport by 8am Monday. Off to Kansas City for a training class, actually am really excited to be selected for this, it is "High Performing Managers" and there are only 15 people per class. I about choked the first day when they said that the company is making an investment in us - $15K each. I think that is more than I spent on my entire college education - wow. Got home Thursday @ 10:30pm went to work Friday, and then had a busy weekend. By Monday thought I was seriously having an aneurysm - ALL last week felt like someone was trying to put a stake through the back of my head and really couldn't focus at all. Think that the plane ride back to MN did me in. So went to Dr. who scheduled a MRI for yesterday a.m. Really kinda scared me to t...

so thankful

The other night I had an exchange with Gigi that means the world to me, the last one when she knew who I was, so I just need to write it down, so I won't forget. Actually I don't think I will ever forget it, but wanted to share with Amy and my folks. Gigi: I am so tired, I just want to go home. Susan: Gram I wish you would be able to go and be in your own room in Aitkin. Gigi: I have a nice room. Susan: Yes you do it is so calm. Gigi: I want to see them. Susan: Who Gram? Gigi: Mother, dad, John. Susan: They are all waiting for you. Gigi: I know they are. I want to go. Susan: Margaret and Fran are there, so are Tom and Don (her siblings). Elsie, Esther and Sarah are there too (her dear friends). They are waiting. Gigi: Yes they are. Susan: Gram will you be there waiting for me someday? Gigi: Of course, you know I will be. Susan: And we will laugh. Gigi: Yes, we love to laugh. Susan: I love you. Gigi: Love you too. I am so tired.
