We have not fallen off the face of the earth

Just have been extremely crazy right now - kids had the last week of Kidstop and my mom will be here this week to hang out with them, then next week we are off to Gull Lake, then school starts.

I know like a lot of you we have been watching the Olympics every night - I am kinda sad that the Michael Phelps show has come to an end. JG is obsessed.

Let's see some of the funnies from this week:

Last night JG informed me that he "accidentally" set up a fort in the basement after I requested that we leave it be for the night. When I asked how this could have happened he told me, "I not know, it was just there."

JG's other hit for the week:

We have located the long lost GameBoy and JG has been playing with a vengeance each night after he comes in from running amok with the neighborhood boys. Dan asked JG to go upstairs and get in the shower before bed, JG ran upstairs with the GameBoy.

Dan went to check on him when he heard JG screaming in the shower. When Dan opened the door he found JG on the floor of the shower sitting there playing his GameBoy and complaining that Mario's head was spinning in the wrong direction - caused by water in the game.

Needless to say the GameBoy dried out after many tears and an lesson in why it is not a good idea to take handheld electronics into the shower... sigh.

Classic JG. That boy is part Calvin and part Dennis.

We thought of you as we flew over the Cities. We guessed where your house might be and sang a little Manamana in your honor.

Six weeks

I am sidelined for at least six weeks. No tennis - no good. My bad wheel turned into immobile wheel today thanks to an air cast. Not the most attractive accessory. I had been trying to continue playing with the plantar fasciitis guess I figured it was going to be around for awhile so might as well deal with it. This plan actually worked out for the best because when I was playing on Thursday there was this loud pop in the bottom of my foot. Suddenly my heel felt better, so I thought, "Maybe it released all of the bad heel juju into the rest of my foot." Well, it was something like that. Evidently I tore a ligament in my foot which the doctor told me is really the best thing that could have happened. The reason why is it cured the plantar fasciitis. Plus the recovery time for the ligament thing is about six weeks versus potentially months or years with the other. So all in all I guess it was a good thing to tear a ligament. I am bummed because I can't do any exercise for t...

JG's Blog

JG has decided he wants his own blog. He wants to call it, JG Uses the Puter (computer). On his blog he will have Game Cube tips, Game Boy complaints, Pokemon stuff and updates on play dates with his friends. He also will have a special section for Speedy to tell how much he loves JG. Here is JG's first post: cgtuioweeejp 345776985214. I am four my birthday is March. Tomorrow I want to play hockey. I feated the Empire with 3PO and R2. Does anyone know how old R2 is? I think he is three and 3P0 is four like me. That's it. I want lunch.

Have you met my friend Jane?

I am a complete Jane Austen junkie, in fact I think that I need to maybe seek help. Shelly tells me I need help and we all know Shel tells it like it is, so it must be true. "Hello, my name is Susan and I love Jane. Jane Austen." I read "Pride and Prejudice", annually. Yes, every year I spend a weekend with Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy. Now that I think about it I may need to skip my little tradition this year because I have so many other never read books piled up and there is a due date looming from the library. The reason I share this closeted truth with you my friends is because there is a TV event starting this weekend on PBS. It is basically the 10 weeks of Jane, every Sunday night PBS will air a adaptation of Jane Austen's novels. Here is the schedule. So, if you have never had the opportunity to get to know Jane, maybe it is time. Think about it, there is no new TV, it's cold out and you can learn new some new sayings for Monday. Nothing ...
