ok i am done with this whole heat wave thing, airline change fees and 6:45 basketball practice

***warning - there will be whining in this post***

don't know about the rest of you but i have had it with this warm. first we were in TN with the miserable heat and then we come home and it is worse here. plus i don't know if our air is really working as it should...i suggested to the home office that we could have blown the fuse again, but that wasn't received well.

about 4 years ago i ended up calling minnegasco when the air wasn't working, dan left and went to work and left me here at home looking like a complete idiot when the guy showed up, told me nothing was wrong with the a/c and flipped the switch/fuse and instant cold. i am hedging my bets that it might be the same case, but i am not going to fall for the minnegasco trick again. btw the same thing happened this winter with the furnace, dan left me here alone looking like the inept homeowner. i am sensing a pattern here...

i have to go to st louis next week and do a presentation to like 375 people - ugh. little nerve racking, but i am sure i will have another out of body experience, go on autopilot and then when it is done wonder what the heck i said. feel pretty prepared for the whole thing, only glitch was the flight which i had to change due to change in the agenda. if i wanted to fly home on thursday night it was going to cost and additional $783.00 - highway robbery. so i am staying overnight and paying $9.79 + $150 change fee for an extra exciting night in st louis.

ok that is enough whining. i need to get sleep allie has open gym with the HS basketball team at 6:45am. Crazy, just crazy.

you, my friend, deserve to whine. and wine. i seriously don't know how you do it...the flying, the meetings, the traveling basketball star, the hockey player, the home office, the...schwew. you're making me tired just thinking about it.

i have been "watching" the saga of allie and her basketball team on facebook. i'm amazed. i would love to watch her play someday.

Pleased as punch

We got our new vacuum cleaner last night. The home office was kind enough to pick one up along with our PF Chang's takeout. Take out Chinese on Valentine's is a tradition. Anyhoo, as you can see from the photo we basically sucked up an entire Pomeranian in our upstairs family room. I don't know if I should be embarrassed or pleased. I mean we just vacuumed on Monday with the Hoover and I knew it wasn't picking up everything, but this is ridiculous. The home office was so impressed with the Animal he went downstairs and vacuumed up another canine in the family room down there. I am still trying to figure out all of the gadgets on the machine. I seriously cannot figure out how to attach the stair cleaner. It is really funky how the thing is put together, efficient, but funky. I also for the life of me cannot figure out the directions. JG's in love

Remember that song Chuck E.'s in Love? I think it was by Rickie Lee Jones. Well, I have been singing that little tune in my head this afternoon. Evidently JG is smitten in a big way. I guess today at pre-school he went up and declared his undying love to Paige, a very cute blond with a bob. My friend Jeremie was picking up the boys and told me JG went up to Paige and told her he was going to marry her. I don't know what Paige's response was to his proposal, but when the boys were riding home Jeremie asked JG why he liked Paige. JG responded, "Because she is so beautiful."

I am breaking up with...

my hair salon... A girl has a very special relationship with her hair salon. I have been "with" mine for nearly eight years, however have hit the tipping point thanks to a little reality show called "Split Ends". The owner of my salon was a participant on the show and swapped places with a stylist in Goodyear, AZ. After watching her little tirade on YouTube I am done. I am completely shocked, embarrassed, and angry I have handed over my money to this woman. She has always been affected, but this is ridiculous. She rips on the AZ salon for being in a strip mall - news flash - her salon is in a strip mall. Plus I have consistently seen women of all shapes and sizes, wearing all types of clothing throughout the years. Don't get me wrong I LOVE THE WOMAN WHO DOES MY HAIR (who is not this woman on the video) and am completely sad that we have come to this, however I cannot step foot in there again. I think I am going to call tomorrow and tell her what I really thin...
