Don't mess with Texas

Our son has started standing on one leg with the other pointing straight out. I figured it was some kind of move he saw on Pokemon or Avatar so I didn't ask.

Sometimes it is best to let them come to you because if you call attention to it they will stop and never explain. Example: AE wore her sunglasses upside down from age 3 to 4. I asked one day why and she stopped. I never knew why she chose to look at the world upside down. Maybe she didn't know she had them on bass ackwards.

I have found out the reason to his unique stance - kind of. He told me.

"Mom, look at me. I'm Texas," JG said while standing on one foot with his other leg perpendicular to his body.

"What?"

"I'm Texas."

"Texas?"

"Yeah, Texas. This is how they stand in Texas."

"Why?" I asked.

"Because they are waiting for their horses."

That's all I got. Near as I can tell he has been watching Westerns and saw one too many cowboys saddle up. If anyone else has any suggestions let me know. He hasn't stopped. Maybe more info will be forthcoming.

Wonder what his interpretation of Minnesota would look like? If he goes off of what he sees at home it would be reclining in the La-Z-Boy with a remote outstretched.

You're right about not asking. You may never know the source, but your 'lil pardner is sure entertaining! I love his individuality.

Pleased as punch

We got our new vacuum cleaner last night. The home office was kind enough to pick one up along with our PF Chang's takeout. Take out Chinese on Valentine's is a tradition. Anyhoo, as you can see from the photo we basically sucked up an entire Pomeranian in our upstairs family room. I don't know if I should be embarrassed or pleased. I mean we just vacuumed on Monday with the Hoover and I knew it wasn't picking up everything, but this is ridiculous. The home office was so impressed with the Animal he went downstairs and vacuumed up another canine in the family room down there. I am still trying to figure out all of the gadgets on the machine. I seriously cannot figure out how to attach the stair cleaner. It is really funky how the thing is put together, efficient, but funky. I also for the life of me cannot figure out the directions. I dislike how all European companies, Dyson (UK), IKEA (Sweden) just show you pictures. I always thought I was a visual person, but I am b...

Have you seen my sticker?

JG has been talking about a sticker all morning. I thought he was referencing some stickers he received from Valentine's Day, however I was wrong. I didn't ask for details like when did you last see the sticker? Where did you get the sticker? I found out what sticker he had lost. JG went to the bathroom and asked me to come in and examine his end product. "Mommy, do you see my sticker?" "What? Where?" I asked confused. "You know the sticker from my apple," JG told me rather disgusted. "Your apple? You ate the sticker on the apple?" "Yeah. It went in my tummy now I want to find it," JG said excited. "You said everything that goes in my tummy comes out in the potty." We didn't look for the sticker to JG's disappointment. We instead went over and peeled one off of an apple in the basket. All better now.

I am breaking up with...

my hair salon... A girl has a very special relationship with her hair salon. I have been "with" mine for nearly eight years, however have hit the tipping point thanks to a little reality show called "Split Ends". The owner of my salon was a participant on the show and swapped places with a stylist in Goodyear, AZ. After watching her little tirade on YouTube I am done. I am completely shocked, embarrassed, and angry I have handed over my money to this woman. She has always been affected, but this is ridiculous. She rips on the AZ salon for being in a strip mall - news flash - her salon is in a strip mall. Plus I have consistently seen women of all shapes and sizes, wearing all types of clothing throughout the years. Don't get me wrong I LOVE THE WOMAN WHO DOES MY HAIR (who is not this woman on the video) and am completely sad that we have come to this, however I cannot step foot in there again. I think I am going to call tomorrow and tell her what I really thin...
