La pelicula Gracias a Winn-Dixie

Today we were lazy. We watched a little football (yea Colts), a little tennis (yea Martina Hingis) and a few movies.

AE & I watched Because of Winn-Dixie first thing this morning. It was a really cute movie, any movie with a dog I am a sucker for.

I tried to get AE to watch this before when it appeared on On Demand, however she never really had any interest. I knew she had watched it when she was at my sister's once, but didn't really mention anything about it other than she didn't really like it.

After the movie was done AE said, "I loved that movie. I want to watch it again."

"Really, I thought you didn't like that movie," I asked surprised.

"Yeah, I know. It was better this time."

"Why?"

"Well, last time when we watched it HP (her cousin) was playing with the remote and we had to watch the last half of the movie in Spanish," AE said very matter of factly.

She added, "I can understand way more when it is in English."

Does AE want to learn any German? I've got a tutor all lined up...

Das ist gut. I will have to let you know. I will rent, "Run, Lola Run" or "Das Boot" to see if she takes the bait and is enamored by the guttural language of her ancestors.

Sehr gut! Just a warning, the tutor I have in mind has a penchant for all German words that sound like bodily functions...and they are many.

Run, Lola Run was not my favorite movie. Is Das Boot good?

Das Boot is about a bunch of Germans stuck in a submarine. It was made in the early 80s. Don't think I would recommend it. But, you could give it a go and let us know what you think. The last time I saw it I was like 12.

Six weeks

I am sidelined for at least six weeks. No tennis - no good. My bad wheel turned into immobile wheel today thanks to an air cast. Not the most attractive accessory. I had been trying to continue playing with the plantar fasciitis guess I figured it was going to be around for awhile so might as well deal with it. This plan actually worked out for the best because when I was playing on Thursday there was this loud pop in the bottom of my foot. Suddenly my heel felt better, so I thought, "Maybe it released all of the bad heel juju into the rest of my foot." Well, it was something like that. Evidently I tore a ligament in my foot which the doctor told me is really the best thing that could have happened. The reason why is it cured the plantar fasciitis. Plus the recovery time for the ligament thing is about six weeks versus potentially months or years with the other. So all in all I guess it was a good thing to tear a ligament. I am bummed because I can't do any exercise for t...

Tightrope walking on a string

This has been one of "those" weeks where I often find myself scared to slow down and assess the situation because when I do I start to get this really tight feeling in my chest and I feel nauseous. Does anyone else get that? When life is going mach 10 with your hair on fire...and if you stop you just might fall right over from that string you are balancing everything on... I am going to bed.
