Flip this room

Our daughter, bless her heart, is not the most organized person. Her bedroom most of the time looks like a bomb has just gone off. According to her teacher, Mrs. H, her desk at school is done in the same style: complete disorder with a touch of havoc. AE's desk has made an impression on Mrs. H because every time I see her she mentions the monstrosity where our daughter sits six hours a day. All I can say is AE needs to marry well, or do well on her own, so she can hire someone to take care of all that "cleaning" stuff she finds so insignificant.

Trying to establish some order in AE's life, I took it upon myself to re-do her room this weekend. I went in and purged enough to fill an extra large trash bag. When I was done I decided new furniture with extra storage was the answer, so I took out all of the 70s princess furniture I had as a girl and went on the hunt for new order.

After doing research and discovering the desk and dresser I would like to purchase would be somewhere around $1,700, I turned to Plan B. I didn't really know what Plan B was but figured it would come to me, which it did.

My aunt, mom and I went on our weekly estate sale hunt and came upon a little shack (yeah, right) in Edina where I found the perfect desk for $95. One down, one to go. I then came upon dresser at IKEA which met AE's approval. I managed to put it together by myself (it is still standing) and I am pleasantly surprised at the quality.

Plan B total: $255. Not too bad if I say so myself. I will post pictures, as soon as I find the blasted camera.

It's not disorganization, it is organized chaos! I'm sorry, but your daughter takes after me alittle here. You should see my office.

So, that's where it comes from...it's all your fault. :-) AE says she can find anything if she needs it, she knows exactly where it is at in the chaos.

Six weeks

I am sidelined for at least six weeks. No tennis - no good. My bad wheel turned into immobile wheel today thanks to an air cast. Not the most attractive accessory. I had been trying to continue playing with the plantar fasciitis guess I figured it was going to be around for awhile so might as well deal with it. This plan actually worked out for the best because when I was playing on Thursday there was this loud pop in the bottom of my foot. Suddenly my heel felt better, so I thought, "Maybe it released all of the bad heel juju into the rest of my foot." Well, it was something like that. Evidently I tore a ligament in my foot which the doctor told me is really the best thing that could have happened. The reason why is it cured the plantar fasciitis. Plus the recovery time for the ligament thing is about six weeks versus potentially months or years with the other. So all in all I guess it was a good thing to tear a ligament. I am bummed because I can't do any exercise for t...

Tightrope walking on a string

This has been one of "those" weeks where I often find myself scared to slow down and assess the situation because when I do I start to get this really tight feeling in my chest and I feel nauseous. Does anyone else get that? When life is going mach 10 with your hair on fire...and if you stop you just might fall right over from that string you are balancing everything on... I am going to bed.
